A letter to you

I hope you are doing well.

I am not clear about what should I write to you in this letter but I’ve planned to keep things simple so that it’s easier for you to understand them.

First of all, let’s talk a bit about life.

What’s life?

It has been a mystery for ages and no one has a clear answer to it yet. Everyone has tried to put forward their perspective but we don’t know the final and authentic proof of anything yet.

Life’s sometimes really difficult. Sometimes it’s really easy.

We go with its flow. Some of us are able to change its coarse while the majority is not. Those few are the ones that lead others in the future.

There are many ways in which people reach that point. We have both good and bad ways to get to that.

As a human being, you should never get dictation on how to live your life.

But you should always see whatever action you are taking to achieve something. Is it's harming someone else or not? Aren’t you hurting someone else by doing that?

If the answer is no, go for it!

What’s your social position?

Another important thing is our social position in society. Usually, we refer to it as ‘status’.

It depends on certain things depending on the people around us.

In the olden times, it used to be being the son of any influential person, having some worldly power, being able to rule a group of people, etc.

Today, it’s almost the same but it’s no more inherited. You can become famous overnight and improve your social status.

Working to improve your status is not bad.

But, I think deep down everyone is obsessed with this today. We want to achieve success overnight. Every one of us wants to earn a lot of money in a short time.

Earning money and planning to do so is not bad too. But obsessing yourself with it is not good. I think we compromise a lot of things for that. Our mental health, family, relationships, friends, and what not?

How to become a good ______?

You might have seen a lot of guides online.

There are a lot of videos, writings, articles, and everything on this topic.

We want to become good at something. Mostly, it’s related to career.

I am a software engineer so I want to become a good software engineer. Someone who’s a writer, they would like to become a good writer.

I think trying to become a good *something* is okay. But deep down we pressurize ourselves by having an ideal person in our minds.

It’s good to have plans to achieve and to become an expert in your field but again compromising what you already have is not good.

Another point. There was only one Einstein. No second Khayyam was born in the world.

You don’t need to be a genius to be good at something. Everyone’s not a genius. But still, anyone can be good.

Takeaway:

There are so many things to talk about. COVID, politics, vice, poverty etc.

People are suffering in front of us. We should try to help them as much as we can. We should lend a hand of help to them.

Try to do what you can for them.

I’ll try to write on other things too but I think let’s keep this one to it.

Remember

  • “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
  • Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
  • “If you chase anything in life chase the things that get you excited about living. Chase the things that give you hope, happiness, and a glimpse of a better life.”

Stay blessed and be happy!

Your friend

Saeed
